You're invited to an action-packed event at the NEST Arts Factory this weekend! We have a variety of activities perfect for celebrating Spring and Mother's Day - enjoy a visit to Bridgeport's hippest art locale.   Saturday & Sunday, May 9-10, 2015  Encased encaustic art opening reception on Saturday from 2-4 pm  Artisanal honey tasting on Saturday plus beeswax candle and lipbalm demos on Sunday sponsored by Red Bee Honey  Factory HandMade art, craft, + design fair with five outstanding vendors on Saturday and Sunday 10-4 pm  Plant sale sponsored by the Black Rock Garden Club on Sunday  Featured artist Catherine Conroy, photographer, reception on Saturday 3 pm  Open Studios on Saturday and Sunday 10-4 pm

Encased, an exhibition at the NEST Arts Factory Gallery May 9 - June 5, 2015 Opening reception: Saturday, May 9 from 2-4 pm Encaustic art, created with pigments or paints and melted wax, has been practiced for nearly 2000 years. The work can be collaged, incised, layered, and encased to create art of stunning depth and luminosity.   Participating Artists:   Jan Geoghegan Kim Hanna Nash Hyon Marina Marchese Liz Pagano   The artists of the NEST welcome visitors during May's Open Studios on Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10 from 10-4 pm. See artists at work, view the art, hear the music - the NEST is abuzz with creativity! Bridgeport ArtTrail

The Nest Arts Factory is once again part of the Bridgeport Art Trail.  Open studios for nationally renowned artists, gallery exhibitions and receptions, musical presentations and orchestral concerts, dance performances, yoga demonstrations, photography shows and a zoo animal art show are among the events in the mix, slated to take place Thursday, Nov. 10, through Sunday, Nov. 13.

There will be about 30 venues -- at which hundreds of visual and performing artists from Connecticut and New York work and create -- are inviting culture-vultures throughout the region to revel in a super saturation of the arts during the Veterans Day weekend.
